Panhandle Tidbits eBook Tamala McKenzie Reviews
I came on the scene not long before the Blizzard of '56 but don't remember the details like the author. I was only 3, but I can remember all of the snow.
I was lucky enough to work with Bob Izzard at KPUR radio in 1973-74. My husband, boyfriend at the time, who later became General Manager, Mike Lee, also worked with Bob off and on at KFDA TV. I also worked with Dugg Collins at KDJW in 1973. Both were true Texas gentlemen.
I remember every store and shopping area mentioned. I can remember the wooden floor at Skaggs Drug , and shopping almost every Saturday with my mom. Once the malls came, it never was quite as fun.
She did a great job of telling the history of mine and my daughter's hometown. I just wish she'd follow up with "the rest of the story".
